I’ve talked a lot about Disney’s most controversial sweetheart, Rachel Zegler, who is the actress playing Snow White in their new live-action remake of the 1938 animated classic. When this movie will come out, I have no idea at this point as the release date has been being pushed farther and farther out, making me think that it may eventually be shelved as one of the worst remakes ever, not just because of the terrible CGI that’s the stuff of nightmares, the desecration of the morals that made the story so popular, and the forced diversity, but also because of Zegler’s recent stance on Trump supporters.
Zegler, a staunch Leftist, recently posted on Instagram that she’s “speechless” about having to live through “another four years of hatred in a world that “I do not want to live in.” She then continued, saying, “May Trump supporters and Trump voters and Trump himself never know peace […]It is terrifying the number of people who stand behind what this man preaches […]It is a foolish subscription to a false sense of security, of masculinity, of intelligence, of patriotism, and of humanity […] I will love through these four years of as best I can. F*** Donald Trump.”
Yes. I can feel the attempt to love through these next four years just flowing through these words from Zegler. Truly she is the perfect person to play Snow White as she radiates this much love and tolerance and pure femininity.
Since the entirely warranted backlash following her post, Zegler has been forced to apologize, saying, “I would like to sincerely apologize for the election post I shared on my Instagram last week. I let my emotions get the best of me. Hatred and anger have caused us to move further and further away from peace and understanding, and I am sorry I contributed to the negative discourse.” She continued with her apology saying that everyone has a right to their opinion and will “positively toward a better tomorrow.”
I swear, the only thing missing from this apology is a ukelele solo a-la Colleen Ballinger.
If anything, the biggest take away from this series of posts from Zegler is that Hollywood has a glaring double standard. If you’re a conservative and you happen to speak out about how you support Trump, any other Republican, or just common decency, you’ll be canceled and lose your job. But, if you say all the things that Hollywood and the Left wants you to say, like what Zegler did here, then that’s okay and you’ll be praised for it and won’t need to worry about losing your job. We saw this with actress and MMA fighter Gina Carano’s case, where, for posting on X (formerly Twitter) about the political hatred in this country being like the hatred towards Jews in the street during the Holocaust, she was canceled and fired from her role as Cara Dune in The Mandalorian (and since then, Disney has lost millions of dollars in the backlash for the firing and landed themselves in a lawsuit with Carano). If Disney wants to gain any semblance of respect and decency back, they should do what they did to Gina Carano to Rachel Zegler. They should shelve the movie, fire Zegler, and try to distance themselves from her forever.
Until next time,
M.J.
it’s been entertaining to watch christians support their anti-christ: rapist, serial adulterer, divorcee, liar, thief, fraud, coward who attacks US troops when supporting putin and who says he doesn’t need forgiveness from the christian god.
No one needs to be tolerant of the orange rapist Trump or his amazingly ridculous cabinet picks. Hard to imaginary a more disgusting bunch, with the failed kennedy that likes to play with dead animals, gaetz who was under investigation for drugs and sex issues, etc. Poor ol’ Rudy, I’m sure he was expecting to be named AG.
