Back in 2022, Dailywire released What is a Woman, a documentary by political commentator Matt Walsh. I’ve wanted to review this film for a while now, but it always got shoved to the back of my mind thanks to school stuff and everything I wanted to put on this blog. However, now that Matt Walsh’s newest documentary is coming out this Friday, I thought that there would be no better time than now to talk about his first movie.
#1: The Plot
Since it’s a documentary, there’s not a ton that I can say about it in terms of plot or even acting. Matt Walsh is still his usual deadpan-self in this movie, completely calm and collected even while listening to the words of a bunch of Left-wing lunatics hell-bent on sterilizing our children. But though there’s not much to say there, what should be talked about is the trolling that went into making What is a Woman and the highlights.
#2: Trolling
Matt Walsh is notoriously good at trolling the internet. Some of his greatest highlights include starting a GoFundMe campaign for AOC’s abuela (the proceeds of which AOC refused), being anti-panda, and getting his book, Johnny the Walrus, in the top place on Amazon’s LGBTQ+ books list. In What is a Woman, he is no different, intentionally or unintentionally trolling activists by asking the titular question and refusing to leave unless absolutely necessary, allowing us to see their confused and enraged reactions to that question. Because of this, the documentary becomes something that’s almost like a twisted comedy, so absurd that you can hardly believe it’s real.
#3: Some Highlights
The entire movie might as well be a highlight compilation, but some of the most important ones if you want to understand gender ideology are the scenes talking about John Money, Alfred Kinsey, and Scott Newgent’s story of transitioning from a woman to a man and the pain that has come from that.
#4: The Aftermath of What is a Woman
Thanks to What is a Woman, more people have been able to see the true horrors of transgender ideology and how it’s affecting the youth. Information about it is still coming out, but Matt Walsh’s documentary is a good starting place if you are a concerned parent who wants to know what your kid might be being exposed to.
Until next time,
M.J.
