On this blog, I often talk about how if you go woke, your show or franchise is going to decrease in quality until its completely unwatchable. We’ve seen this with Star Wars, Marvel, Indiana Jones, anything Disney-owned in general, The Dragon Prince, Rings of Power, etc. The latest on the chopping block is now The Witcher, the massively popular Netflix show based on the books and video games of the same name.
The Witcher takes place in the world called “The Continent” and follows Geralt, a beast hunter who has magical capibilities and must protect Ciri, who’s kind-of the key to everything. Season 1 of The Witcher follows that story as much as it could and people loved it, giving it an 89% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes. Even the main actor, Henry Cavill (who plays Geralt), enjoyed the show and hoped that it would go on to make seven seasons and become the next Game of Thrones – which it did, but it became Game of Thrones season 8.
If you go onto Rotten Tomatoes, you’ll see that The Witcher steadily moves away from trying to be accurate to the books to just trying to be woke virtue signaling and it shows. While season 1 had an 89% audience score, season 2 declined to a 55% score, and season 3 had a lower score than She-Hulk, coming in with a score of 20%. Instead of focusing on the main character anymore, the show focuses more on the “strong-women” of the story, many of which have been race-swapped into oblivion. It’s gotten so bad that Henry Cavill has officially left the show, leaving Netflix to replace him with Liam Hemsworth.
This is bad news for Netflix since Henry Cavill was essentially the only reason why anyone was still watching. They even made him part of their campaign for season 3. Take a look at some of these campaign banners…

Isn’t this a wonderful ad? Doesn’t this make you want to see the show?
Now that the Internet has completely eviserated season 3, the writers are now pulling what can only be called “a Rings of Power” as they call the audience stupid. They actually think that people are too stupid to understand any of the non-existent nuance. Honestly, this seems more like projecting on their part, since most of these writers have less IQ than a snail. They probably don’t even understand what they’re writing.
At the end of the day, however, I’m going to say, “Let them come.” Let the crappy, idiot writers destroy the book. The audience will get mad at them and ratio them into their graves and I will be all too happy to watch it. While I will be reading the original series in blissful ignorance of the show that I won’t watch, I’ll have the satisfaction that Hollywood is crumbling from their own pride and narcissim.
