On October 7, 2023, the terrorist organization, Hamas, launched a massive attack on Israel, causing the most Jewish casualties in a single day since the Holocaust. Horrific videos circulated around the internet showing Israeli civilians being wantonly murdered, raped, and taken hostage. Over a thousand people lost their lives and 251 people were taken captive.
Two years after that dreadful day, we’ve still continued to see the evil of humanity as they turn against Israel. Radical Leftists are still cheering on Hammas and “Palestine.” In Britain, Jews are being persecuted for being Jewish and the solution to this – according to the tea-brained morons in the London police force – is to “look less Jewish” because it antagonizes the pro-Palestine people. In Gaza, the bodies of several hostages were returned to the Israelis by Hamas, most notably the bodies of Shiri, Ariel, and Kfir Bibas, in which it was found that the two children had been murdered by their captors and their bodies had later been mutilated to feed the lie that they had died in an Israeli airstrike. It also took two tries to get Shiri’s body back after the original casket had been found containing the body of an unidentified Gazan woman. That’s also not mentioning the party that was thrown during the exchange, in which Gazan civilians and Hamas operatives celebrated the deaths of these innocents, the caskets having Hamas propaganda written on them, the children being in the wrong caskets, and the caskets being locked and having no key to unlock them. Also, heart wrenching is the video Hamas released a few months ago of one of the hostages still in Gaza, Evyatar David, emaciated and being forced to dig his own grave in one of Hamas’s tunnels, something we haven’t seen since the Holocaust.
Sadly, too, the cheering on of Hammas and “Palestine” hasn’t just been relegated to the Left. A concerning number of self-proclaimed conservatives such as Candace Owens and Tucker Carlson have become increasingly anti-Semitic over the past two years, with many of their followers buying into the anti-Semitic rhetoric as well. In fact, one of the most recent examples of this was how after the death of Charlie Kirk, Candace Owens started going off on an unhinged rant on X blaming Benjamin Netanyahu for Kirk’s death, even though he was an avid defender of Israel (Tucker also did this, too, while giving a eulogy for Charlie).
Then there’s the churches. Unfortunately, some churches have been quietly jumping on the bandwagon of abandoning Israel. If they aren’t Left-wing progressive churches who are all about love and inclusivity (except towards Jewish people), a lot of churches are adopting supersessionism/fulfillment theology, which basically says that God dumped the Jewish people because they sinned too much (which doesn’t line up with God’s character or reality) in an attempt to walk the line to keep people of different political views from leaving. Or they’ll just ignore the situation all together.
This type of crap is just depressing. The world isn’t supposed to be this way. And when it is, we’re supposed to hate evil and fight against it, not fight for it or try to act neutral. All it takes for evil to thrive is for good men to stand down for a bit.
However, to end this post off with some hope, in the past two years, some good things have happened. Many of the 251 hostages have been returned to Israel, though we’re still waiting for the rest to be released. Most of Hammas and Hezbollah’s forces have been decimated. The majority of Hammas’ leadership is now dead. Iran (who has been funding many of these terrorist organizations) has been crippled thanks to the U.S. and Israel’s joint effort to blow up their nuclear sites. Qatar, which has been backing Hammas and putting out Hammas’ propaganda such as Al-Jazeera, is now backing down and also working with the U.S. and Israel on negotiating a surrender. Syria’s new regime is also signaling that it’s willing to open relations with Israel. Israel’s economy is soaring. And just last week, Trump and Netanyahu met at the White House to discuss a plan that would accomplish all of Israel’s goals and has been accepted by several Arab nations. Hammas has yet to agree to it, but according to Trump, if they don’t, Israel will have the full backing of the United States “to do what you {Benjamin Netanyahu} need to do.”
And, on top of that all, Israel is still standing. The nation that’s barely the size of New Jersey is still going. If that’s not God’s blessing, I don’t know what is.
[Author’s Note: I was writing this post last week and so the news regarding Israel has changed since then. As of when I’m posting this, Hamas has agreed to let the remaining hostages go, however, they haven’t agreed to the other terms of the peace treaty, namely stepping out of power in Gaza and demilitarizing the place, a critical part of the peace treaty. To this, Trump is threatening “complete obliteration,” if they don’t leave. So, we’ll see what happens in the next few weeks.]
Until next time,
M.J.
