Last Wednesday, Charlie Kirk was shot in the neck at a TPUSA event, killing him. The Internet’s response was a mix of shock, horror, and grief, but on the Left, many people start celebrating or finding ways to minimize the horror of this attack. Many of them said that Charlie deserved it for his support of the 2nd Amendment and for his supposed “hate speech.” Other lies have also been floating around as the Left scrambles to save face by claiming that Kirk was killed by a group called the Groypers and claim that Republicans are the real threat and are actually the ones that are espousing violent rhetoric. However, none of this is true, so today, I will be debunking this crap.
#1: Words are Violence
It seems that this is the biggest argument the Left has, with justification for it being, “Well, the Nazis started with words….” However, words are not inherently violent. Discussing ideas is not violence. It’s when you start making threats and dehumanizing people that they begin to become violent, and even then, true violence is when those threats are acted upon. If we are forced to live in a society where we cannot discuss our ideas peacefully because everything might be deemed offensive or “violent,” then we cannot speak at all. We see this a lot on college campuses where many young people are afraid to speak up on controversial issues because they’re afraid of being punished or even assaulted by other students.
What this country has sadly forgotten is that even if one side is speaking and encouraging violence, it’s through conversation that you fight against it (I’ve also seen quite a few people on the Right who seem to be forgetting this in response to the Charlie Kirk shooting, too, unfortunately). The Left has been encouraging violence for years and yet us conservatives have been speaking against it instead of trying to kill the people encouraging it. Weapons are only necessary when violence becomes real because that’s a case of self-defense. Shooting someone because they said something you disagreed with is not fixing the issue. It’s shutting down conversation and when that happens, violence becomes real.
On that topic, you could also ask the question: “Then why are conservatives reacting so strongly to what people on the Left are saying as though it’s violence?” The reason why isn’t because it’s outright violence, but because it promotes it. Does that mean that people on the Left who mock Charlie Kirk’s death should be totally silenced? No. It’s offensive, but is a perfect example of how the Right needs to continue being bold and having the hard conversations with people we disagree with, even if they’re incredibly disrespectful.
#2: “We Literally Don’t Know Why Kirk Was Murdered.”
A lot of people on the Left are saying that Charlie Kirk deserved to be murdered because he was a fascist or were denying that he was killed by a Leftist. However, Charlie Kirk was never a fascist. According to Wikipedia:
Fascism (/ˈfæʃɪzəm/ FASH-iz-əm) is a far-right, authoritarian, and ultranationalist political ideology and movement that rose to prominence in early-20th-century Europe.[1][2][3] Fascism is characterized by a dictatorial leader, centralized autocracy, militarism, forcible suppression of opposition, belief in a natural social hierarchy, subordination of individual interests for the perceived interest of the nation or race, and strong regimentation of society and the economy.[3][4] Opposed to communism, democracy, liberalism, pluralism, and socialism,[5][6] fascism is at the far right of the traditional left–right spectrum.[1][6][7]”
If you look at the political spectrum the Right is characterized by a smaller government and more freedom for individuals. The Left is characterized by a larger government and less freedom for individuals. By that definition, we can compare it to what conservatives want and we see that fascism is actually very Left-wing. Conservatives are against a centralized, one-party government (autocracy), are against a dictatorship, promote freedom of speech and not it’s oppression, believe in a free market economy with very little government intervention, believe in the ability to move up in society, believe in a democratic system with checks and balances, etc. The values I just listed were what Charlie Kirk fought for. This is not fascism.
Compare this to the Left, which has been working overtime to suppress freedom of speech (look at the censorship of 2020), believes strongly in a hierarchy of victimization, believes in a Marxist system (which calls for the suppression of individual interests for the purpose of the state), and believes in massive government oversight. The California Learning Resource Network has an excellent breakdown of the main tenants of fascism that I would like anyone reading this to compare to what we see coming from the Left.
Even more damning for the Leftist narrative that fascism is right-wing is its history. In the 1930s, Benito Mussolini (the guy who brought fascism to Europe) was a fan of Karl Marx (who I know many Leftists are also fans of) and was originally part of the Socialist Party before being kicked out. If you look at the tenants of socialism, which include a centralized, one-party government, a suppression of individual interests for the needs of the populace, huge government oversight, etc., they’re very similar to what’s found in fascism. In fact, the most famous fascists, the Nazis, were socialist. To quote Snopes: “The full name of Adolf Hitler’s Nazi Party, the political movement that brought him to power and supplied the infrastructure of the fascist dictatorship over which he would preside, was Nationalsozialistische Deutsche Arbeiterpartei, the National Socialist German Workers’ Party. ” The only reason why fascism is considered Right-wing (other than political benefits) is because it doesn’t go as far Left as communism, which calls for total government control.
Right now, the media is also trying to blame Kirk’s death on Right-wing in-fighting between TPUSA, and a group called the Groypers, which is led by Nick Fuentes, who’s a genuinely crappy person. However, this makes no sense because of the inscriptions found on the shooter’s bullets, which consisted of slogans such as, “Hey fascist! Catch!”, “Oh bella ciao, bella ciao, bella ciao, ciao, ciao!”, “Notices bulges, OwO, what’s this?”, “If you’re reading this, you are gay, LMAO,” etc. With messages like that, it would make no sense for this to be a result of in-fighting between Republicans. The only way you could say that is if you conveniently forget the antifascist messages and the fact that we now know that the shooter had a boyfriend who was trying to transition from male to female.
#3: No One is Celebrating Charlie Kirk’s Murder
Some Leftists are also trying to ignore this glaringly obvious fact, so, here are a few compilations of TikToks celebrating Charlie’s death.
#4: Violence From Republicans/Democrats
The Left is trying to say that Democrats are the peaceful party and that Republicans are the real threats, so here are some examples that show otherwise.
- During the BLM riots of 2020, Democrats caused massive property damage, with Minneapolis, Portland, Seattle, Washington D.C., and New York experiencing the worst riots. Minneapolis sustained the most damage with 164 separate structure fires according to the FBI and ATF; nearly 200 properties being affected by arson, and Minneapolis Police Department’s 3rd Precinct being set ablaze. One person died from smoke inhalation and burns, and at least 700 buildings sustained damage, with 12 being completely destroyed.
- This year’s riots in L.A. caused about $1.4 million in damages to the city, not mentioning the $29.5 million that go to the police and the price of potential lawsuits.
- During the George Floyd riots, Karen Bass of L.A. was happy to bow to BLM by threatening to defund the police instead of cracking down on the rioters, thus perpetuating the problem, Maxine Waters said she looked forward to more BLM protests if Derek Chauvin’s trial didn’t go the Left’s way, Kamala Harris helped bail out some BLM rioters who were in jail. etc. These were the people burning down Minneapolis and they wanted them set free, spreading more violence.
- This year, everyone’s favorite bumbling governor, Tim Walz, urged Democrats to “bully the s***” out of Trump.
- This also is not mentioning the fact that people on news stations like CNN and MSNBC (such as Joy Reid) have been fearmongering, calling Trump “Hitler” and demonizing the Right for years. When that’s going on, it’s no wonder that people want to kill conservatives.
As for conservatives inciting violence, here are some facts:
- January 6th was a protest, not a riot. While I do not condone people breaking into the capital, compared to what BLM was doing in summer 2020, it was a picnic. Trump even encouraged everyone to stay peaceful. The only person killed was Ashli Babbit who was shot in the shoulder by a police officer.
- Conservative protests are often peaceful. For example, with the pro-life crowd, pro-lifers will usually stand outside the clinic and pray or sing hymns. Meanwhile, I’ve also seen several stories of pro-lifers being attacked outside of clinics by the pro-choice crowd, and pregnancy crisis centers being burned down or vandalized. I have seen no evidence of Republicans promoting violence against abortion activists or providers. (However, after doing some research, apparently the pro-life movement has had a few examples of violence against abortion providers and clinics. That is the wrong way to go about things and it’s right to condemn it.)
- Another example of conservative protests and rallies being peaceful has been the reaction to Kirk’s death. While, as I mentioned before, there are people on the Right who want vengeance against the Left, overall, the reaction has been peaceful all across the world. Just compare this rally for Charlie Kirk to one of the “firey, but mostly peaceful protests” in reaction to George Floyd’s death.
- Trump has been quoted saying encouraging rally-goers to “knock the crap” out of protestors and “pay their legal fees.” However, upon further research, this was because protestors were threatening to throw tomatoes at him. While this doesn’t seem like a big deal, this is still considered assault and can lead to injuries depending on how hard the fruit was thrown. Thus, if someone did beat up one of these protestors, it would be warranted, not wanton violence because of opposing political views.
- Another claim is that Chaia Raichik and Ryan Nichols have been showing the faces of people who are being jerks about Kirk’s death. This is true, but they aren’t inciting violence against them. Instead, these people are being broadcast because those who celebrate murder deserve to be punished. I don’t care if you’re on the Left or Right, if you’re celebrating people being murdered, especially if you’re someone like a teacher, you deserve to face the consequences, such as losing your job. A person who celebrates outright murder is not mentally stable.
- Steve Bannon says we’re at war in this country not because he’s inciting violence, but because that’s exactly what it feels like.
#5: Conservatives Don’t Care About When It’s on Their Side
One of the claims I’ve seen on the Left is that if it’s a conservative sending a Democrat death threats, nothing is said. One of the most common examples shown is the guy who killed a lawmaker and his wife in Minnesota and had a list of who else he wanted to kill alongside a bunch of “No Kings” flyers. However, though we’re told that conservatives don’t care when it’s their side doing this, we do and it’s tragic either way. It’s tragic for the loss of life and it’s tragic that some people are so mentally unstable that they think they’re doing good by shooting those they disagree with. Political violence on either side is terrible and no matter who you are it shouldn’t be celebrated or go unpunished. For anyone on either side of the spectrum to say it’s not is absurd and makes me worry about where our country is headed.
#6: Charlie Kirk was Inciting Violence
Numerous claims have been made that Kirk was inciting violence and got what he deserved, including from an MSNBC host who later was fired for it. I don’t have time to quote all of the supposedly hateful remarks Kirk made, but I’ll leave the link to where you can find some of these quotes here so you can do your research and make up your own mind. One example of the hateful things Kirk supposedly said that was inciting violence was that he allegedly said that Jews rule the world. I found where this quote originally came from, and it was from a New York Times article about Charlie that was later forced to issue a correction of this claim according to Fox News and the Independant Journal Review for being so egregiously false.
Another claim is that when Christians say that someone deserves death that that’s inciting violence. If the person doesn’t actually deserve it because the punishment doesn’t fit the crime or they’re innocent, then yes, that’s inciting violence. However, in this case, we’re saying the shooter deserves the death sentence. In this case, the punishment is fitting for the crime, so this isn’t inciting violence. This is a hunger for justice.
Whelp…I think I got everything covered here. It’s truly sad to see this type of thing just because of someone’s political beliefs. The world isn’t supposed to be like this, and yet it is. Please pray for the people saying these heinous things about Charlie Kirk that they realize how bad their ideology is and find Christ.
Until next time,
M.J.
More cultists doubling down on the lies they tell about Charlie Kirk. Great to see how christians ignore their bible and evidently think their god is too stupid to notice them lying. Curious how there was no lawsuit that had to retract anything Kirk said. It’s notable how MJ has no mor than lies from fox news, which isn’t a news source per themselves, and IDJ which is full of lies.
“Another claim is that when Christians say that someone deserves death that that’s inciting violence. If the person doesn’t actually deserve it because the punishment doesn’t fit the crime or they’re innocent, then yes, that’s inciting violence. Unsurprisngly, there is no justice in this cult since its god supposedly kills people for things they didn’t do or had control over. So claims of wanting justice are just lies. They ignore their jesus who says not to judge and those who haven’t sinned shouldn’t be throwing stones.
