News: Debunking My Haters – The Truth of the Israel/Palestine War. Part 4: Israeli Fighting Tactics + Accusations.

Aaaand…we’re back to this series as more people have been leaving absolutely unhinged, almost unintelligible comments in my “Rick Riordan Needs to Shut Up Post”. This time we’re going to be talking about Israel’s use of bombing to attack Hamas, their attacks in Lebanon, their ingenious use of walkie-talkie bombs, and some allegations that the pro-Palestine people just love throwing out there. Cry all you want; I’ll be sipping my coffee. Let’s get into it.

: Bombing Raids

so carpet bombing Gaza is self defence?[…]Why are they bombing the entire area leaving nowhere safe, when they could just do a ground invasion and find whoever they need? If a school has a shooter you don’t the bomb the entire f**** school. – D.J.

[Author’s note: these comments will be from D.J. since they were the most unhinged in my comments section. Unfortunately, I won’t be able to get to all of them here, but maybe I can address some other ones later.]

To debunk this, we have only to find the definition of carpet bombing. Carpet bombing is where you drop bombs indiscriminately over a large area to cause as much damage as possible over the selected area. This tactic was unfortunately very common in WWII-era bombing raids, partially due to the fact that even the most sophisticated targeting systems were rudimentary compared to what we have today. The effects of carpet bombing are devastating due to the range of the bombs’ concussive force, and you have only to look up pictures of London during the Blitz to see it.

However, this is not what Israel is doing. What the IDF is doing is something called precision bombing, which is the exact opposite of carpet bombing. It involves targeting a specific thing (for example: a building) and dropping a bomb on it. While the force of the bomb going off can still damage surrounding buildings and possibly kill people who were not intended to be killed, it still does quite a bit in way of reducing collateral damage as much as is realistic while dealing maximum damage to the target. Notice how I said, “as much as realistic”. There is always going to be collateral damage in war. You can be as careful as possible, and there will still be collateral. That’s the price of war and there’s no way around it.

This also obliges me to answer the question of: “Why are they targeting hospitals, schools, etc.”

The straightforward answer that the pro-Palestine people refuse to believe is that Hamas has not only built tunnels under many civilian centers, making any bombing liable to target these places or accidentally damage them, but Hamas has also been using these places as bases for their operations. Just recently, Israel arrested a Gaza hospital chief who admitted to being a commander for Hamas and using the hospital as a military base and admitted to 16 hospital staffers also working for Hamas, as well as having about 100 Hamas terrorists hiding out there before moving to a different location. With that type of thing going on, bombing these types of places where they know that Hamas operatives are hiding out is a necessary part of the war and is safer for the IDF than going into the place on foot where they could be attacked.

: Walkie-Talkie/Pager Bombs

“though turning their pagers and walkie-talkies into bombs. Through this, they reduced potential of civilian casualties while crippling over half of Hezbollah’s forces.” Two children were killed and 3000 were injured how is that reducing civilian casualties? – D.J.

This should be considered an example of precision bombing that took years of work and produced great results and hilarious memes. Yes, two kids were killed. That’s true. But compared to the tens if not hundreds more that could have been injured or killed in a traditional bombing raid or an on-foot invasion, that’s nothing. Furthermore, the 32 people that were killed and the 3000+ people who were injured were all Hezbollah operatives. That’s a pretty good bombing job if you ask me. Minimal collateral damage and Israel had 3000+ less people to worry about harming them who will all be jumping at the beep of a heart monitor or phone notification for the rest of their lives.

: Strip Searching, Killing, Arresting and Abusing Children

This is an allegation that has some grounds in reality, however it’s being completely blown out of proportion by the pro-Palestine psychos. I will be responding to these links sent to me by the ever-unpleasant D.J.:

These are just a few examples, but I will focus on these ones.

First of all, I want to focus on Hind Rajab’s final moments where at the end, it says that her car was besieged by two tanks for 48 hours. My father served in the U.S. Marine Corps. He has seen military equipment, used it, and learned the tactics used by the Marines. From this experience, he says that there is no way in hell that any government would ever waste several million dollars’ worth of equipment somehow besieging a car, just to kill a random family. That would never happen.

Secondly, there’s the story of the toddler who was tragically shot in the head. Call me biased if you will, but I believe the Israeli perspective on this story that it was an accident. If you choose to drive through an active war zone where at any moment there could be shots fired, you are actively putting yourself at risk. In this case, it seems a shot went awry and unfortunately hit the kid. That was not intentional on the IDF’s part. They don’t shoot at cars with civilians in them. That was an accident and should be treated as such.

Thirdly, there’s the video of the Palestinian children supposedly being arrested by an IDF soldier which came with the incredibly ignorant note from D.J. saying: oh and dont give me that ‘theyre throwing rocks’ bs cause we both know that you dont arrest children for that

1). We actually do arrest children for throwing rocks or at least give them a stern talking to, especially if they’re doing it in an area where they could harm someone or property (three high school-age boys were arrested in Colorado for throwing rocks at cars and accidentally murdering a woman). In the case of these kids, the fact that there was an IDF soldier there tells me that they were likely in an area where throwing rocks would’ve been an offense that would result in possibly getting arrested. There’s also the fact that kids have been throwing stones in participation in the Intifada for years.

2). The way the video was clipped, we have no idea what these kids were doing before being detained or what happened to them afterwards, so this editing already raises red flags as for the validity of the accusations. The same can be said for what is translated in the subtitles and what is not.

3). They’re literally told that they will be released. When kids are scared, they often freak out and think that the worst option is the one that will happen to them. You can see that happening in the video.

Lastly, there’s the video talking about the teenager being raped and showing a video of a kid being strip searched. Unfortunately, while the IDF and other civilized armies will try to weed out the creeps in their units, there’s always those few who manage to slip by undetected and do bad things, such as raping a child. That’s just a fact and when that happens, the consequences for the perps are severe. My dad’s talked about how when he was in the Marine Corps, they were warned that if you were caught doing things like raiding bodies, raping people, etc. your brothers in arms were given leave to shoot you on the spot. Notice too, how it says that the IDF arrested the person who raped the kid. That should reflect well on the IDF and poorly on the people who sadly defended the perp’s actions.

However, in the case of reports of kids being strip searched, I have to agree with the IDF. Hamas, Hezbollah, and other terrorist organizations have a long track record of using children as weapons and soldiers (https://www.news.com.au/world/middle-east/horrible-things-unseen-impact-of-israelhamas-war-on-children/news-story/1c46459e99468c1491aec063cf8d6066) (Which has also contributed to the high death-toll amongst minors in this war. When you’re on the battlefield and what looks like a child is shooting at you and your buddies with an AK-47, you’re not going to go up to the kid and ask, “Hey, kid, are you over 18?” You’re going to shoot in self-defense because that kid is a threat to your life.) In fact, the Iranian government has been hiring minors in European countries to carry out terrorist attacks against Jews. Clearly, they do not shy away from using children as soldiers, so this makes it a necessary precaution for IDF soldiers to have to strip search children, especially if they are acting in ways that may be suspicious. In the case of the video above, any suspicious activity seems to have been edited out, so we unfortunately do not know the full story here, making it easy for pro-Palestine people to point to this as evil.

: People Being Raped in Detention Centers

Unfortunately, this is another allegation that is true, however, just like in the case of the 13-year-old, the people who did it were arrested and are being held for trial. Stop letting the actions of individual people reflect on an entire country full of people the vast majority of which don’t support their actions. If you continue trying to paint Israel as a genocidal country that should be wiped off the planet because of that, just realize that your logic is like saying that we should totally destroy New Jersey or something because there were a few rape cases.

(Just as a side note, I would also like to ask the question of: why is it that when something like this happens to some Muslim from a country that you’re incredibly ignorant about, you throw a screaming fit, destroy college campuses, demand that Israel be destroyed, attack Jews in the street, etc. but when this happens to anyone else – especially in black or Hispanic communities were there’s higher levels of crime – you don’t seem to care? I’m not advocating for people to riot in the streets every time this happens – if you protest, you should do it peacefully – but it shows such a mental disconnect that I just have to question it.)

: Why is Israel Attacking Lebanon

ALSO what in the leaping lizards was that one random attack on Lebanon that had grave consequences for the people living there???? As far as I know Lebanon isn’t in Gaza… -Anonymous

Yeah, no kidding Lebanon isn’t Gaza. Now Dora, why don’t you go look at a map of where Hezbollah is and what they’ve been doing to Northern Israel, and you’ll get your answer as to why Israel is attacking them.

(But I do like the term, “what in the leaping lizards?!” I think I’ll borrow that for future posts.)

Until next time,

M.J.

  1. “…you throw a screaming fit, destroy college campuses, demand that Israel be destroyed, attack Jews in the street…” For real. What did the colleges do to them? They call us Nazis, then do EXACTLY what the Nazis did. New flash: taking janitors hostage is not peaceful protesting. Anyways, good blog!

    1. I think it’s because 1). They act like screaming toddlers who just will take their anger out on anything and everything and since the colleges let them get away with it, they feel safe doing it and 2). Because colleges allow Jewish students to attend. That’s just my theory. I could be wrong.

        1. In general it’s a felony in all 50 states where punishment can range anywhere from 10 years to life in prison (or if the person being held hostage dies, the death penalty). Everyone who participated in that behavior should be arrested, but some of these stupid colleges have actually protected these kids’ identities and the fact that many of them wear face coverings make them even harder to identify.

  2. “Call me biased”

Yep, okay. I’m calling you biased. You cannot see past the absolute lies they’re spoon-feeding you. Grow up.

    1. Yes, and you’re also biased towards the other side of the argument. It is impossible to not be biased towards one side or the other side. The difference here is that my biases are supported with facts, evidence, and logic. Your biases are based on ignorance and fallacies such as overgeneralization that you use to try to justify the persecution and attempted annihilation of a people group and their country because of their race.

  3. I hope you realise you literally defend the murder of children in this post..? These “reasons” aren’t even good enough

and what the flip are your sources??? New York news letter? News . Com??? Get something reliable.

    1. And screaming “oppression”, “racism”, “colonialism”, etc. justifies Hamas and other terrorist entities killing entire families, burning babies, taking women of various ages (including minors) as domestic and sex slaves, raping people and filming it, wantonly burning houses, shooting corpses multiple times, etc.?

And I could ask the same of your sources, too? You’re probably someone that believes that Al-Jazeera is a credible news source when news flash! they are owned and operated by the Qatari government which supports what Hamas and Hezbollah are doing.
