Today marks the one-year anniversary of Hamas’s attack on Israel. On this day last year, Hamas launched a massive invasion in Southern Israel, killing 1,200 Israelis and taking over 240 hostages. Hamas raped, murdered, and pillaged, whole communities and families. They committed war crimes that we haven’t seen since the Nazi death camps in WWII. A day later, the terrorist group Hezbollah launched rockets at Israel, resulting in more deaths. The world watched in shock as the footage of this mass destruction was released, but instead of coming out and openly condemning the atrocities committed by Hamas and Hezbollah like any rational person would, they instead condoned it, labeling Israel as colonizers who deserved Hamas’ attack.
Throughout America and the West, Pro-Palestinian/Pro-Hamas rallies have trashed college campuses to the extent where the graduates of 2024 could barely have their long-awaited graduation ceremonies if they got them at all thanks to all the disruption, have discriminated against and assaulted Jewish college students (one Yale student, Sahar Tartak, was stabbed in the eye with a Palestinian flag (https://www.yahoo.com/news/jewish-yale-student-stabbed-eye-015010270.html#:~:text=A%20Jewish%20student%20at%20Yale%20University; some other Jewish students were trapped in a library during a pro-Palestine rally https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/us/harrowing-footage-jewish-students-barricade-themselves-in-library-as-pro-palestinian-mob-hammers-on-doors/ar-AA1iX6eL#:~:text=A%20group%20of%20Jewish%20students%20from%20the%20Cooper,demonstration%20outside%20the%20building%20on%20East%207th%20Street.)), have invited speakers with ties to terrorist organizations (including Hezbollah) to speak at their schools (https://www.thecollegefix.com/anti-israel-speakers-linked-to-terrorist-groups-featured-at-georgetown-conference/#:~:text=Georgetown%20University%E2%80%99s%20Qatar%20campus%20hosted%20a), have assaulted Pro-Israel protestors (some of them not even Jewish), have even been funded by terrorist groups (https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/world/pro-palestinian-campus-protests-organized-by-groups-with-terrorism-ties-report/ar-BB1orMEb#:~:text=Groups%20such%20as%20SJP%20and%20Jewish) etc., and have gotten away with it. Media outlets and politicians back them as heroes as they too condemn Israel. Popular authors, actors, and YouTubers have continued to join in the anti-Israel rhetoric, some of them claiming that they’re being brave by posting Pro-Palestine content because it would be taken down elsewhere (meanwhile their comments sections are filled with people applauding them and cheering on Palestine). And once again, if anyone speaks out about the ridiculousness of it all, these people’s fanbases are there to call us racist and genocidal. Even here, on a small blog with 43 subscribers, I have been called “insane”, “genocidal”, “hateful”, “inhuman”, etc. and been told “F-you” in the comments section of my most popular post, “Blog/News: Rick Riordan Needs to Keep His Mouth Shut About Things He Doesn’t Understand” all for being pro-Israel and speaking out against those who are willing to stand by and watch its destruction. Hell, I’ll probably get even more people like that in the comments of this post if it does well.
Well, let them come.
In the aftermath of October 7th, the Left has shown its true colors. The “Party of Tolerance” who claims to preach a message of “joy”, “acceptance”, “unity”, and “democracy” have sided with the people who hate all of that. Feminist groups and LGBTQ+ organizations who wouldn’t survive a day in a place like Afghanistan, Iran, or Gaza now march in the streets with the Palestinian protestors chanting anti-Semitic slogans and encouraging an “intifada revolution” (for those of you who don’t know what that means, it means “rebellion” or “uprising” and in more recent years has been used to suggest the destruction of any non-Islamic state). The same people who preach anti-racism and demand reparations now beat pinatas of the face of Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu and stuff the Israeli flag into sewers in New York. They completely ignore the videos of Hamas raping and kidnapping women and children, pillaging homes, burning entire families alive and bragging about it (many of these videos were put out by Hamas themselves). They ignore the fact that not only did Hamas kill Jews that day, but also killed people who were simply on vacation there, who weren’t Jewish or white. They ignore the hundreds of thousands of people who haven’t been in their homes in months due to Hezbollah’s bombings in Northern Israel. The party of love and tolerance are cheering on a group of genocidal lunatics who believe that the Jews are not human and then turn around and claim that Israel and anyone who supports Israel is committing a genocide.
When the Left shows you who they really are, believe them.
However, even with all the odds stacked against them, Israel is winning this war. In a recent speech delivered at the UN, Netanyahu reported that over half of Hamas’s forces have been destroyed. Hezbollah’s leader, Hasan Nasrallah was killed in an airstrike and hundreds of Hezbollah operatives, including some high-ranking officials have been disabled due to the stroke of genius that was Israel’s pager and walk-talkie bombs. For those of you demanding a cease fire, don’t worry. The war should be over soon so you can quit LARPing and pretending that you’re holier than thou because you converted to a religion you don’t understand and go back to making overpriced drinks at Starbucks to pay off your mountains of college debt.
Furthermore, colleges here in America who have been allowing these protestors to run amok on their campuses are now losing money because of it. Columbia University’s Giving Day donations have dropped by 30% following the protests (https://www.dailywire.com/news/columbia-university-giving-day-donations-plunge-nearly-30-following-anti-israel-protests) and quite a few people are becoming more and more annoyed as the protests continue.
Now to talk about the civilian casualties that Palestinian supporters love to cite in my comments section to support their claim that Israel is committing a genocide. While it is true that Israel has killed over 40k people, the vast majority of those were terrorists, not civilians. Israel has always been incredibly humane when fighting their enemies, always making sure to get as many civilians as possible out of the way before bombing the area. They are very intentional about who they target and who they don’t. Additionally, they are even saving people who are not Jews, who are Muslim. They have allowed Gazans who are trying to flee Gaza into their country. Just recently, they saved an Iraqi girl who had been taken prisoner by ISIS when she was 11 and trafficked up to the point of her rescue by Israeli soldiers (https://www.dailywire.com/news/girl-kidnapped-by-isis-at-age-11-rescued-by-israeli-forces-in-gaza-after-a-decade-in-captivity). No one who was actually committing a genocide would ever do that.
Now compare that to the terrorists who pay their own civilians to have rockets in their houses to shoot at Israel (https://www.timesofisrael.com/idf-releases-photos-of-hezbollah-storing-munitions-in-lebanese-civilian-homes/#:~:text=Israel%20on%20Monday%20published%20what%20it). Compare that to the same terrorists who are holding corpses hostages and would rather torture their hostages then shoot them in the head rather than let them go (one of these hostages was an Israeli-American, by the way) (https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/other/what-we-know-about-the-six-hostages-who-israel-says-were-killed-by-hamas-in-gaza/ar-AA1pNaci#:~:text=T%20he%20bodies%20of%20six%20hostages). Now tell me who’s evil. Now tell me who’s genocidal.
They also like to talk about the kids in Gaza who were in the wrong place at the wrong time and are traumatized by the bombings. One of the videos that has gone viral of this is this one:
Though these videos are incredibly sad to watch and I feel bad for that child and children like him, supporters of Palestine are completely ignoring the severe PTSD, anxiety, and depression that many Israelis now experience, with 40% of parents now experiencing these things and 84% of children experiencing it (https://www.timesofisrael.com/liveblog_entry/study-finds-84-of-israeli-kids-40-of-parents-suffering-emotional-distress-over-war/#:~:text=A%20study%20conducted%20by%20Goshen,%20an). According to this article from the Times of Israel, 93% of children impacted by the war now have “emotional difficulties” and 64% of them suffer from anxiety. These percentages are about the same for Gazan children. The difference is that Israel cares enough for their civilians where they have bomb shelters for them to run to, for the kids to be safe in. Hamas and Hezbollah, on the other hand, use children as human shields and soldiers because they don’t care about human life. They only care about power. Don’t believe me? Watch this documentary:
Once again, can you still – in good conscience – support what Hamas and Hezbollah are doing after watching this? I agree that Palestine should be free…free from these people because it’s the terrorists who are running their governments. And if you think that this is just a problem in the Middle East, think again. In many ways, it’s already here in the form of the Pro-Palestine protests. At this point, it’s just a matter of time before America is under attack from these psychos and it’s the same for my British readers as terrorists now chant “Death to Great Britian.” In the past year, security has had to be ramped up for synagogues and churches as more and more of them received bomb threats. Over the weekend, synagogues in New York received multiple bomb threats and people were held hostage in a synagogue in Texas, resulting in a standoff between federal agents and the perpetrators of this crime (https://www.cbsnews.com/newyork/news/ny-synagogue-bomb-threats/ https://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/feds-declare-hostage-standoff-texas-synagogue-act-terrorism-hate-crime-rcna13141).
Lastly, I would like to address the claim that Christians have been just as terrible as Hamas when it comes to wars and the treatment of Jews. This was something that I’ve heard from two people, one of them a Muslim who was arguing that it was mainly Christians that started the world wars and thus are just as radical as Hamas. While I do agree that people have done many terrible things in the name of Christ and did persecute Jews for centuries, it’s mainly been secular leaders who have stood in opposition of Israel. The world wars were not started for religious reasons, but were started for political reasons, unlike Hamas who are following a religious mandate to kill the Jews. During WWII in particular, the church was actually under attack in Germany unless they were preaching Nazism. The real Christians were the ones who were helping the Jews and trying to hide them from the Nazis. And nowadays, most Christians and Jews live together in peace and help each other. Though there are anti-Semitic Christians out there and always have been for various reasons, the church is primarily pro-Israel.
With all of this in mind, a year after the October 7 attack, though things still look bad, there is hope. Israel is winning this war, and I think that more people are waking up and seeing how evil Hamas is. I think that there will soon be peace again and we would do well to remember those who died in Israel trying to defend their right to live and by extension have been protecting the West by destroying the main terrorist organizations.
Until next time,
M.J.
