Art Gallery: Foggy Ship

This painting was done in watercolor and I believe it was based off of a painting by the YouTuber Ahmad Art. While this definitely isn’t my best painting, it is one of my favorites mostly because of the clouds. One of the fun things about watercolors is the fact that when using the wet-on-wet technique, you can use a cloth, paper towel, or tissue to easily and effectively pick up paint. If the paint is somewhat dry when you do that, you may end up lightening the color, which was one of the techniques I used here.

However, if there was one thing I would change about this painting, it would be the water. The water needed more finesse and the waves should’ve been done while the paper was still wet.

Until next time,

M.J.
