Art Gallery: Portraits of Percy Jackson in Acrylic and Watercolor

These were the first portraits I ever did (though the original art is not mine; it belongs to Viria. These are just my renditions of it.) As you can see, the first try was done with watercolor, though at the time, I didn’t really understand that watercolor was a much different medium than acrylic paint. It spread quicker and easier, was less opaque (though part of that was due to the fact that the watercolor paint I was using wasn’t the best quality). It dried quicker since I didn’t know about the wet-on-wet technique and thus was quite blotchy. Obviously, I didn’t have this problem with the acrylic, but several years later, I returned to this painting and redid it so it now looks like this in watercolor:
